I love this site, just found it. I think I may have family in Antigonish. My
granparents are from there. The last name is Mac Donald. They used to visit
every year, would love to here from anyone who knew them or related.

Antigonish is definitely different than any other place in the world-ethereal,spiritual,and
magical-it stands out from the crowd. Your photos are cool. When I get Adobe
Photoshop,I will forward some of mine from the Oregon coast of storm waves that

Married a "townie" after graduating from "X" in 1964. We
go back every 6 months to visit family in town. I've enjoyed the expanded golf
course and last spring hiked the Fairmont Ridge. Family and old friends have
been very kind to me. The drive gets easier all of the time, especially with the
Wentworth Valley By-Pass. Once Maine gets the "Airline" straightened
it will really be clear sailing.Took the "CAT" this fall and while it
doesn't really save time it was a unique experience. Enjoyed the pictures on
this well done Web-Site.

I think this page is a wonderful idea and it was done very well!! We have
alot of people who come to our town, and it's nice if they can go on the web and
re-visit our town, so to speak. Also, i have alot of friends out west who have
never been our lovely town, so i am going to tell them about your great
homepage!! Keep up the good work. Oh yeah, you have a mistake on a
picture....town 19 picture. It says Steam of piper's glenn, instead of STREAM.
Just wanted to let you know about that little mistake......otherwise, Keep up
the GREAT WORK!! I LOVE YOUR homepage!! You should try to get more pictures of
more streets in town, like maybe Maple Drive, up by the regional....which is my
area.... if you want to. Just a suggestion. Take Care. From Tanya MacKay

I have visited Antigonish at least a dozen times in the last 28 years because
my mother is from there. She is part of the great MacInnis clan. My grandmother
and a lot of my aunts, uncles and cousins still live there. I haven't been in a
couple of years, but I hope to drag my Quebecois husband and daughter there one
day soon. We went to PEI this summer but didn't have a chance to drop in. I miss
it very much. It is the most beautiful place on earth. The people there are also
the friendliest, forever asking "and who are you, now?" I just let
them know that I am related to the late Dan Hugh MacInnis. My aunt was the late
Wilena Penny, one of the bigwigs at the Antigonish Highland Society. Hope to go
back there soon.

I was a bit puzzled at the pictures- some of them were beautiful, but some of
them seemed to be very mundane and ordinary. One major difference between
Scotland and Antigonish is brick- we don't have very many brick buildings at
all. Please come and visit the Celtic league at the link I've supplied. Although
the address doesn't appear on the web pages the Celtic League has a branch in

My wife and I just returned from a visit to Antigonish. We were guests at a
wedding there and then we went on to tour Cape Breton and Prince Edward Island.
Although the whole trip was immensely enjoyable, we both particularly enjoyed
Antigonish and the warm welcome we were given. I doubt that we will have a
reason to return, but we will keep very fond memories of the town. Thanks very
much.

Maryland friends: a local scenic side trip is Cape George. A longer one which
requires a whole day (2 days would be better) is to tour the Cabot Trail in Cape
Breton Island; extremely beautiful; very rugged! There is a good motor hotel on
Main St., Antigonish; used to be called the Antigonisher; I think it is now the
"Wandlyn". Have a great trip!

Well, I must say I'm impressed. If I had any idea
Antigonish had such a detailed Web Site I'd have linked it long ago, and people
would have had a much better idea of what it was like. I'm surprised to see so
many people in 'love' with this town, but over all I can understand. Course most
of the time people wanna get outta here, but once yer gone..I can see why you
would wanna come back. Anyways, just another local checking the site. Keep It

Good morning to all you wonderful people in Antigonish. I came upon this site
when I was looking at the Whidden's Campground site. It is a BEAUTIFUL site and
it brings back memories for me from way back. As a child I visited Antigonish
many times with my parents. We would visit "The Sears Family". Then in
later years my husband and I have camped at Whidden's Park with our children. We
also visited some members of the Sears Family. A big hello to anyone who may
recognize me. I would especially like to say Hi to Johnnie and Kay (Sears)
Tompkins and Bob and Sandra Hilliard. Greetings from the Sunny Codroy Valley!!

I was born in Antigonish and grew up there as well. Although I have few good
childhood memories from elementary school, I must agree with everyone else who
has left a message in this guest book; Antigonish is a beautiful town and home
to some of the most friendliest people in the world. It is the only place that I
have ever been that actually encourages jaywalking! Please help to keep
Antigonish the beautiful and clean town that it is. Recycle where you can and
please don't litter. I will be moving back to NS in September of 98 and am
welcoming anyone who went ot St. Andrew Jr. High to drop me a line. I am looking

Hi, My name is Berkeley Brean. My father was born and raised in Antigonish.
My grandmother, Peggy Brean lives in Heatherton. We usually visit every summer
and some Christmas's. I'm originally from Kingston, Ontario. I'm at Syracuse
University getting my masters in broadcast journalism. I am interested in
returning to the Maritimes after I graduate to begin a career in television news
and sports. Could you tell me what sort of opportunity there is in Nova Scotia?
Or perhaps, could you suggest someone to write to concerning this career? Any
help would be great. Also, I was able to find Hyland Drive on your virtual map
-- that's where my dad grew up. For lack of a better expression, that was kind
of neat! I look forward to hearing from you, whoever you are. Have a good day.

Impressive sight, I've never been to Nova Scotia , but plan on it !I am
tracing my roots. Looking on 411 looks like there are a few Gavels in the East.
My Great granfather and Grandfather were fisherman from the Bay of Fundy?(sorry
if I spelled it incorrectly). If there are any Gavels out there that read this ,
please reply . I need a good excuse to start my quest. I would love to visit
